Hi everyone! Happy Saturday!!
I’m Nicky and I run Avon Budget Beauty. I’m in my 40s, a mum of two, and I work in marketing as well as running my own beauty and lifestyle business. I got into this business primarily because I was dissatisfied with my life, looks, and mental well-being. I had been a vibrant, beautiful 20-something, but as the years went by and life came with stress, I lost connection with my inner (and outer) goddess.
I ended up turning to Avon initially as a customer. I wanted to purchase beauty products easily and without the distraction of lots of brands and claims. I also didn’t want to overspend on things that might not work for me. When I received my first order I realised I wanted to really embrace this journey to a new me, so I reached out to Carolyn and Tim at Reps Anywhere and took my first step into the world of Avon.
I decided to set up this website, not only to share the latest brochures and products from Avon but to also share my personal journey of growth. I’d also like to help women like me become their best selves too. So as well as sharing the latest Avon-related news, tips, and products with you, I’ll be sharing stories about my personal growth and guides to improving your own well-being too.
My Early Journey
If you are joining my story now – you’re in luck! I’m pretty much at the beginning. I’m just learning to take care of myself and starting to work this into my life. Be prepared to hear more about my mistakes, wins, learnings, and goals. I have no idea where this story will go and how things will turn out, but I’m certainly looking forward to experiencing it all.
First steps
- Go through all of my products and throw out anything I don’t use or is out of date
- Start creating some regular beauty and wellness habits
- Determine what I already have and what I need
- Start working exercise into my routine
- Get my home looking gorgeous
- Carve out some me time for self-care and wellbeing
A Saturday in Summer
Today is a sunny Saturday in July. I have to run my son over to the theatre school this morning. I also need to sort out a meal for this evening. I’ve done a quick morning routine, washed my face with Soap and Glory Vitamin C cleanser, brushed my teeth, used the Distillery facial oil, an under-eye cream, and an SPF daily moisturiser. I also sprayed on the Skin So Soft Enhance and Glow spray, which is a tanning mist, and a Footworks deodorising spray.
No make-up this morning as I was short on time. I’m really tired too as my dog got us up very early. So I will probably have a nap later today. I’ve got some errands to run later as well as housework to get on top of. However, next week I have two days off to prepare the house for the summer school holidays.
I’m still not being particularly exciting with my choice of clothing. I’m wearing my uniform of a black top and jeans. I really want to get more creative with my style, to be honest. I do like shopping at Studio for different looks. The clothes fit really well, are well-priced, and have good quality fabrics. However, I might wait and start with autumn outfits.
I’m switching my home insurance policy today. My current provider decided to double my premium this year, with no claims having been made. Absolutely no reason for it other than to lose a customer. The new provider is insuring me for a fraction of the price. I am sick of companies giving me less spending power, so I’ve done a lot of switching this year!
Plan for rest of the day
- Buy food for the evening
- Have a bath with my new Avon Senses Getaway Dreams bubble bath and shower gel
- Wash my hair and dry it
- Change into something more summery!
- Put on some summery makeup
- Relax with my husband
- Have a nice meal
- Drink champagne or cocktails
I hope you all have a lovely weekend and start your own growth journey. Don’t forget to check out the July brochure for the latest Avon summer products!
